I will like to start this post by wishing you all a happy and productive week. The month of January is already coming to an end; it’s really surprising how fast time moves these days. Today, I want to talk about how to develop an Effective Blogging Productivity.
Often time, blogging seems to be the perfect dream for most people, where you just need to work a few hours each day and then use the rest of your time to have fun and enjoy yourself. But the truth is that if you really want to achieve your desired result with blogging, you need to find that perfect balance of being super productive while living life in your own terms.
You need to pay more attention on the critical tasks that will elevate your business; you need to work in the most productive manner where you’re getting things done so that you will have enough time to do the things you love later.
There is something you need to know, every successful business person both online and offline has a set of guiding principles that enables them achieve amazing results. Therefore, you need a similar set of principles; this will guide you to put you on track whenever you encounter obstacles or feel the pressure to try something new. So let’s get to it……
6 Tips to Effective Blogging Productivity.
TIP# 1. You can’t please everyone: This is one mistake most of us always make, trying to satisfy everyone all the time. You need to know that no matter how hard you try to please people, you must have some people bad mouthing you. It’s not a bad thing anyway because if you’ve never had someone criticizing you in business, then you’ve not started.
This is because it’s a natural phenomenon. When you get critics, don’t worry because it’s only a sign to prove that you’re doing it well. So my advice is instead of worrying about your critics which can affect your blogging productivity, why not focus on making those that already appreciate what you do more happy?
When you get a negative comment, don’t ignore or delete it, it will show that you don’t even know what you’re talking about, just try and respond to it in a positive and polite manner.
TIP# 2. Focus on a single Internet Business at a time. There are so many distractions on the internet; one mistake most people make including me is being everywhere every time. You can’t achieve any success when you’re trying to get involved in any business opportunity that comes your way. The best thing is to find that one thing that works for you and stick to it.
The reason most people gets overwhelmed all the time is because they are constantly bombarded by offers with the latest can’t fail business opportunity. To enhance your blogging productivity thereby becoming successful online, you need to pay no attention to these offers and focus on what will bring result to what you’re currently doing.
TIP# 3. Understand your Energy level: Another key to effective blogging productivity is getting to understand your working pattern. We all have different ways and time in which we work, most people prefer working in the morning as soon as they get up from bed, some like doing it at night after work while others start slow but build momentum throughout the day.
The best thing here is to understand when you work best and therefore channel your energy on that main task that propels your business forward. What I’m saying is, we all get tired during/after a work day, so it’s of utmost important that we dedicate our most energetic state to that one activity that produces results instead of waiting our time on things that doesn’t matter.
TIP# 4. Always be quick to adapt to change: One of the downside of blogging is that things always change, what works about two years ago may not be working today and those who continue to succeed are the people who always adapt to their business model.
An example of this is the recent Google updates. Many years ago, somebody can just set up a 5 pages ugly looking blog, buy spammy backlinks and flood it with many affiliate links, the blog will rank number 1 in Google and then he will start making thousands of dollars from it just like that. But today, such thinks no longer exist; Google is now slapping such sites.
So, if you continue doing such things today, you will be getting yourself in trouble with the almighty Google. Therefore, one of the best aspects of productivity is to always spend some time on educating yourself, always look for opportunities to grow and expand on what you’re doing.
To study more about Change, I suggest you read……..Who Moved my Cheese by Spencer Johnson.
TIP# 5. Master the 80/20 Rule: I learnt this from Steve Scott’s book……..Internet Lifestyle Productivity. The 80/20 rule as stated by Vilfredo Pareto, states that you get 80% of your result from 20% of your effort. In other words, you get more result when you concentrate on the things that actually work.
Take for instance, assuming you want to get more traffic to your blog, all you have to do is read one blog post or a book that talks about web traffic and start implementing the lessons immediately. What most of us always do is to start reading everything that comes our way thereby getting ourselves involved with too many information leading to Information overload.
Following the 80/20 rule means you focus on what’s working for your business. Basically you rinse and repeat your way to success. It’s not a glamorous strategy. But it works because you take those small breakthroughs and turn them into something big! You are smart enough to avoid the tactics that doesn’t produce good results.
TIP# 6. Know how you spend your time: Have you heard of that popular phrase that Time is Money? I know most of us are already familiar with that word but do we actually make use of it? The point is to make sure you know when you’re squandering time on things that will not add any positive result to your business.
There you have it.
I know there are many other ways to achieve effective blogging productivity, but these are the ones I’m making use of at the moment.
The most successful people in the world are doers, not readers. Therefore, I challenge you to immediately apply what you’ve just learned. Reading is not enough; you must apply. Don’t worry if you make mistakes along the way. It’s the best way to learn a process. The important thing is you’re applying what you’ve learned and moving towards amazing blogging productivity.
Please I will like you to tell me what you think about this post in the comment section, what other method you use to enhance your productivity?
Did you enjoy this post? Please share it with your friends.

Hey Theodore,
Now those are some great tips you shared and I definitely agree.
I learned a long time ago that you can’t please everyone but I guess we feel so vulnerable online because you aren’t just looking at a few thousand people who could possible run across what you share but literally billions. Sure, not everyone who has internet access will see what you share but we have such a huge audience. But we can’t please everyone and not everyone will agree with us but in your offline life it’s the exact same thing. We all just have to realize it’s no different here.
I also know way too many people who want to do too many things at once. I think if they jump into it they’ll realize themselves that they can’t focus on everything all the time so they’ll eventually give up some of the rest. Great point.
The rest of what you shared, great stuff along with the 80/20 rule. Steve nailed it in his book didn’t he. We can all be so much more productive with our time.
Thank you for bringing these to our attention.
Enjoy your week.

Hey bro,
How are you today? Thanks for sharing these tips. One thing I learned early last year is to focus on one thing and avoid distraction. With this, I was able to generate a handsome amount (at least for a starter)
This does not roll away the idea of MSI (Multiple Sources of Income). MSI comes with time and hard work. I’ts about building one source to stability and then embracing another. It’s not trying to do all at once. One of the reasons people abandon is information overload which shows up when you start trying everything.
Focus! Focus! Focus!
Theodore Nwangene says
Well said my man,
You know what? One of my definitions of focus is…..FOLLOW ONE CAUSE UNTIL SUCCESS. I think thats the main thing, I’m never against having MSI, but I’m against doing it all at same time.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your honest opinion.

Hi Theodore,
Great tips! Understanding our energy level is very important. Apart from knowing when do we perform best, we have to be aware of the people of situation that drain our energy!
Stay focused is so much easier when we follow your tips and apply them. Staying focused needs discipline though. Keeping the dream (outcome that we desire) vividly in front of us by a dream board and visualization help too 🙂
Thanks, Theodore!

Thanks and please come again.

Great advice Theodore.
You’re right it’s impossible to please everyone and we shouldn’t even try. There’s always going to be someone that is going to criticize you no matter what. And guess what? That’s OK, that mean you are doing something, right?
There are, indeed, some time of the day where we are much more productive than others and one should be fully aware of this and do the hardest word then.
It’s a must to be adaptable and flexible in business and in life. If you are too stiff you are going to be stuck at one point or another, and that’s not a good thing in business.
Thank you for your great tips 🙂
Theodore Nwangene says
I agree with you Sylviane,
It’s a must to be adaptable and flexible in business and in life because if you fail to, then things will always be falling ahead of you. I sincerely appreciate your visit to my blog, hope to see you more often.

Hi Theodore,
Another great one from you. I think the keyword here is productivity. Like you mentioned sometime ago, it is all about productivity and not activity. Concentrating on what will bring more results is really the secret of making it big online. And this is one of the things I’m really doing this days. I’ve set a target for myself and everything I do right now is geared towards that target. And I must say these tips will come handle as one goes on.
Theodore Nwangene says
Thanks Chadrack,
One thing I’ve discovered is that most people always think they are being productive when they are doing things that will not add any value to their business. I’m glad you like the post man and wishing you more strength to follow through your target.
Sue Neal says
Hey, Theodore,
Great post! First of all, can I apologise – I’ve just responded to the lovely comment you left on my blog and I wrote your name wrong on the first draft I published – I’ve amended it, but you might get the one where I call you by your surname in your email response, so I hope you’ll forgive me.
This is very relevant to the points you raise in this marvellous post because the reason I made that mistake is that I’m exhausted – it’s difficult for me to manage my time online in relation to my energy levels at the moment because I’m still working full time and sometimes really struggling to get everything done in the evenings and at weekends. I’m looking forward to the day (only a few weeks away now!) when I’ll be able to start working online in the mornings, when I’m fresh and full of energy, rather than at night when I’m already tired from a day’s work.
The 80/20 rule is something I’m constantly aiming at but often fail to achieve – I find the best way is to schedule the really important, high value tasks first, so they get priority.
I’m also trying to discipline myself to take regular breaks, by using a timer – that definitely makes a difference.
Thanks so much for these great tips – and for reminding me to re-read Who Moved My Cheese – I love that book!
Sue
Theodore Nwangene says
Hey Sue,
I forgive you of course.
Just like you said, it will be best to focus your working time on those hours you’re still energetic which is in the morning because just like myself, I’m always worn out in the evening after the daily struggles.
I’m very happy you’ve read Who moved my cheese too.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful opinion with us.

Focusing on one thing is definitely a good strategy. That’s something I should do more of. I’ve got several blogs, and I’m spreading my time and effort between them. However, I can’t seem to let any one of them go!
Theodore Nwangene says
Hey Matt,
You seem to have a lot of work to do man, i think the best thing to do is to outsource some of the task while focusing on the more important ones.
Thanks for coming my friend, wishing you more productivity.

Great post Theodore,
Being more productive blogger enables us to provide more value out of our blog.
I like your tips on productivity and I think that another best tip to be more productive blogger is not to be competitive. I believe in just doing what I love, enjoy and what I’m passionate about and things automatically falls into place.
Being competitive and keeping an eye to your competitors, tracks and other things gives us more pressure.
Thanks for the nice tips BTW and I hope you like mine.
Theodore Nwangene says
You’re right Ehsan,
That’s yet another great tip on productivity and i so much agree with you, keeping an eye to your competitors will only course you headache and make you depressed, so its best to be you and you alone doing what you love.
I can’t agree more my friend.
Thanks for this wonderful tip.

Hi
I totally agree that 80 percent of our result comes from 20% of the work we do with full concentration. I strongly believe that if you want to be a successful blogger, start with a single blog and stick to it untill you find success. I want to thank you Theodore to share this article.
