Happy new week friend. Hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did; it was indeed so awesome down here. I know I’ve not been following my initial blogging schedule since this year started. What i mean is my normal publishing of new posts twice/week but, I now want to assure you that I’m fully back and from now on, I will always stick to my blogging schedule. Just hold me accountable if I fail on this again:).
Now, I want to ask you a small question: Who/what do you think you are in the blogosphere? I’m sure you know what I mean therefore, I need you to answer this question in the comment section of this post please.
But I also want to tell you something today of which you might or might not have been aware of. I want to let you know that, whatever you think you are in this business does not matter at all I mean, it’s simply irrelevant.

In the holy Bible, I remembered when Jesus was asking his disciples a similar question……..Who do people think I am? Everyone was giving him different answers until he now asked them again……. Who do you people think I am? Peter now responded that, you are the son of God.
I’ve come to notice that some bloggers usually think that they are the best, they usually believe that there is no other person that can do it except or without them but, such mindset is very deadly and, it can liquidate you before you even know what you are doing, this does not apply in blogging alone but also, I general life.
You see, whatever you assume you are in the blogosphere does not matter at all, what matters is what people think you are, what matters is what your readers and your visitors think you are and, that is exactly what you should pay more attention to.
Carrying yourself up and down thinking you’re the ultimate because of one think or the other is not going to do you any good at all therefore, if you really want to know what you truly are, if you really want to know your true worth in this business then, conduct a survey on your blog and ask your readers what Jesus asked his disciples, ask them what they think you are and, see what they will say.
Pride always goes before failure
Ones you put pride first in whatever you are doing, the next thing that will always follow is your downfall. Because you’re getting some $$$$$ from your blog or because you’ve started getting enough traffic more than others which is very good and, you should be clapped for because, it’s not easy but, that’s not a criteria for you to start misbehaving and thinking that you’re now there. Once you start nurturing such mindset, you will most likely go back to your starting point.
Whatever you think you are, once you look around you, you will discover that you’re nothing, you will find out that there are many other people that are better off than you but, they are not making noise.

And the worst part of it all is that, the moment you start having such thinking, you will start ignoring those tasks that actually put you there and by then, you will start coming down. I’m writing this post based of my own personal experience.
So, the point I’m trying to make here is that, we bloggers should always be humble to ourselves and to others because, we can really do more. We’re not really better than others so, let’s see ourselves as equal because in such way, we will be able to achieve more.
It’s also good to carry out this survey, ask your readers and friends what/who they think you are, this will help you in many ways.
And, I want you to also tell me what/who you think I am also, tell me what you think you are please, this is very important to me and, I’m waiting for your response on the comment section.
I will really be glad if you help to spread the news here by tweeting and sharing this post with your friends all over the social media.
Wishing you a very fabulous and productive week.

Hi Theodore,
That was surely a much needed post, especially in times like these when you tend to see some people happily blow their own trumpet all the time 🙂
Gone are the days when people used to be humble, which is so very required, but nowadays with the way people are, I wonder how much of it is actually right or wrong too. Perhaps as some people say, you have to talk about yourself a little here and there so that others take a note of you (something I can never do, and perhaps you can’t and a few others too), but that’s what seems to be ruling the world – a heard voice and a seen face. I don’t and wouldn’t like to do any of this, or perhaps it’s not in one’s nature, but as they say, when in Rome, do as the Roman’s do, so we should start doing that? Would you I wonder? I don’t think I could, and would rather lead a quiet humble life than to get into the rut of things. That’s just the way I am I guess 🙂
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead, and good to have you back – fully now 🙂

I agree with your points Harleena,
Those are really what is ruling the Internet now but, I can’t do any of those as well. I’m happy you agree with me here.
Thanks a lot for coming and, do have a great week. Sorry for my late reply, was tied down by something.

Hmm, really touching topic here. Of course, pride is a natural thing with all humans and it easily crop up whenever some form of achievement is noticed. Though I couldn’t really grasp the spirit of this post, but I can say that many who may appear to be proud with their content are only trying to draw attention to themselves knowing that is only way others will see them as authority in their field. However, if these ones are doing that to pull down another person then they have missed it because the web is wide enough for all.
On asking your audience to give a vote about who you are, I must say I tried something like some time ago. Though it was not an outright question of what they thought of me but it taught me some lessons. On different occasions I tried to sample the opinion of the blog readers on some personal issues, this was when the blog was averaging over 30 comments per post, but to my surprise I discovered that there were no real responses that touched on the issues.
From then I realized there was a missing link some where. So, it doesn’t really matter what you are. Everyone is only looking out for himself. But that shouldn’t mean we cannot find a meeting point. If you are better than someone in one area someone else is better than you in another area! It’s in learning to appreciate one another therefore that we can make progress.

Interesting topic, Theodore 🙂
While I do agree with your point, we might want to be a little cautious too 😉 My principle (for my life as a whole) is to care only about who I really am (people may think different things..because, well they are other people. But, what matters most is who I am).
Of course, in business (and in blogging), this changes a bit, since we have to care about what readers think of us (then again, if we really are providing value through our content, our products, our service, our readers will most likely think good of us – and even recommend us).
Asking our readers is a great idea…it helps to analyze what our readers really need. But, our readers have to be brutally honest…the thing is that a lot of the active commenters remain nice (including myself…I am trying to change that though) – It’s great to say when they like the content..but we must also inform the author if we don’t like something. Because in the end, it helps them improve (and that’s what I want from my readers..it’s great to know that they appreciate the content, but their criticisms will help me more).
Anyways, thank you for sharing this, Theodore 🙂 Do appreciate the link too! Thanks! Hope you had a great weekend.

You’re right Jeevan,
What we think about ourselves is always better than what others thinks about us but just like you said, that changes a bit as far as business and blogging is concerned, we have to pay more attention to what our readers and customers thinks, this will help us to serve them better.
Yea, we shouldn’t be nice man, it’s always good to pin point any error or fault you see at anytime because, keeping quite will not do the blogger any good.
Thanks a lot for this awesome comment of yours as always Jeevan and, I’m sorry for my late reply 🙂 .

Hey my man,
Let me first start by telling you what i think of you.
1. You are a gentle young man who loves to explore(Christopher Columbus) and try out new things.
2. You are a man with a great passion for knowledge.
3. Helping others who need help is a hobby for you.
Yes, ” Pride really goes before a fall”. A good mentor of mine once said that the best ways to keep your heads down is by acknowledging that whatever height you have attained today, there are people who have longed attained to that height or position before you. And this have been one of the quotes i have used to always keep myself in check.
And one other thing with pride is that it blinds one’s eyes from seeing other ways of been relevant to his or her surroundings which in turn leads to the fall of its victim.
I’ll conclude by saying “God resist’s the proud, nature hates the proud and no human would wanna be friend with a proud man.
Nice one, thanks for sharing.

Totally agree that if you put pride first in whatever you are doing, the next thing that will always follow is your downfall. I coincide with your thought, for the reason that I personally do not like that kind of attitude.
I will take note of this:
What matters is what your readers and your visitors think you are and, that is exactly what you should pay more attention to.
I found this post shared on Kingged.com, the Internet marketing social bookmarking and networking site, and I “kingged” it and left this comment.

Great point Theodore. Being humble is the ingredients of better people. If we want to be better in future then be humble on what we are expert at.
Wish you have a great productive week too my friend

In blogosphere it doesn’t matter how good you think you are. This topic is a much needed topic that should be raised. Nice post and thanks for sharing this.

I guess I’m really agreed with you specifically on “Pride always goes before failure” which is the main thing which make us loose each and every thing we’ve developed.
Thanks
