Happy new week all, i hope we all enjoyed the weekend very well. Thank God we all made it to experience this awesome new week. You all might have noticed that i have never accepted any guest post since the inception of this blog, not that i don’t like it anyway, but its just that I’ve not paid much attention to it.
Therefore, I’ve decided to be publishing some guest posts ones in a while. Today, my friend Daniel Adetunji whom I’ve known for sometime now has decided to share a very interesting post with us. Lets here what he has to say……
Have you ever wondered why it seems like you’re not getting traffic to your blog? Are you looking for ways to grow your blog traffic? When I first started out online as a blogger– I thought blogging was another ‘’get rich quick scheme’’ and I tried all I could to make money.
If you’re blogging to make some quick cash then, I’ll advise you quit blogging. Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. Blogging is hard work– real hard work!
Now back to the main subject of this post, if you’re looking for ways to boost your blog traffic then the tips I’ll be sharing in this article will help you..
I launched my blog 4 months ago and I’m happy (for now) with the flow of traffic I get every day.
Without wasting much time, here are the tips:
Six evergreen tips to increase traffic to your blog
1. Tell a fairy tale story
People love stories. We all love to be entertained. The only way to engage a reader is by telling stories. I found out that my blog traffic increased dramatically since the day I started applying this tip. If you want your blog post to go viral and pull the search engine spiders, learn to write entertaining contents.
Make connections with your audience by making your personality shine through your content.
2. Keep your blog juicy and consistent
4 months ago when I first started my blog, I hardly post on my blog and as a result, my readers unsubscribed from my list. In fact, I lost over 30 subscribers in 2 weeks. Why? Because I was not consistent with my posting.
Consistently adding new blog articles will not only keep your readers engaged but will also make the search engine spiders visit your blog regularly.
If you neglect your blog, Google will neglect you and will reject your dinner invitation (Just kidding).
3. Be your audience Go-to- expert
If you need someone to handle your guest blogging project, would you hire a general freelance writer or an experienced guest blogger? I believe you’ll hire the second option, right?
Your audiences subscribed on your blog because they believe you have the experience and the wisdom to solve their challenges. They believed you’re endowed with the gift of information, and you must prove to them that you’re what they say you are.
How? By offering quality content and exceptional value
Pro tip: Let your audience trust you so much that they will refer their friends to you.
4. Guest post on other blogs
I’m a believer and a follower of guest blogging. I am who I am today because of guest blogging. Without guest blogging, I don’t think my business would be where it’s today.
If you’ve not been guest blogging, you’d better start because; it is the only way you can get that traffic you’ve always wanted.
Post relevant and unique contents on other blogs and earn their reward by receiving Holy Grail traffic to your blog. The reason why most bloggers don’t get results from guest blogging is because most of them see guest blogging as a form of link building. Though, guest blogging is a form of link building but it’s much more than that. Guest blogging is an art. It’s a way to connect with other top professionals in your field.
Hint: Put all your best when writing your guest posts and prepare your blog to receive the traffic.
5. Check on your competitors to know what is trending
Yeah. I love this…
Visit other top blogs in your niche to check out what’s trending.
Read their contents and rewrite their posts. Put a little bit of creativity in your content and ensure you make enough research to back up your facts.
Pro tip: Don’t copy and paste; be unique.
6. Revise your blog post before you hit ”publish”
How would you feel if you visit a blog and the contents are full of spelling and grammatical errors?
Bad, Right?
How would you convince a reader that you’re an expert if you can’t even spell correctly? Tell me.
Don’t rush when writing your blog contents. Spend time to read and revise your blog post before you publish.
There you have it!
Did you learn something from this post? What tactics do you use to drive fresh traffic to your blog?

Yes bro!
Guest blogging is very powerful. I’m glad you got some great insights from the post.
Thanks
Dan
Theodore Nwangene says
Hey Shorya,
Guest posting can really be a bloggers savior when it comes to gaining more exposure,
But its unfortunately that we don’t usually have much time for it including myself. But we can always work out something you know.
I think what you should do is to schedule your time as to know when to work on your blog and when to do other things that will give more value to your blog like guest posting.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful thought with us Shorya.

Hi Daniel,
Great tips. I like the fairy tale one. I believe thoughtful choice of images also add ‘juice’ to the blog.
For me, controversial headlines also grab my attention. Again, our creativity counts!
I agree with you that putting the best efforts into the guest post is one of the best ways to get traffic. It is the initial EXPOSURE that is important. When first timer visitors find out that the blog is a ‘Gold Mine’, they would love to return. This is specially the case when the blogger puts in careful thoughts when replying to comments.
Wonderful work, Daniel. Thanks, Theodore for inviting Danilel 🙂

Theodore Nwangene says
You welcome Voila,
I agree with you on the issue of using images to juice it up too because there is a saying that an image speaks a thousand words.
Putting your best effort into the guest post will definitely take it higher when it comes to exposure.
Thanks for coming Voila.
Adrienne says
I see you’ve decided to start having guest bloggers Theodore. Well, I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Daniel so I’m glad I stopped by.
Wow, you’ve only been blogging for four months Daniel! Well welcome to the community and I’ve never heard of a professional guest blogger before. Man, they do keep coming up with new things all the time.
I will definitely agree with the majority of what you shared here. I’m not that great with story telling but it does help when I’m able to share my own experiences. My readers can relate to me so much better.
I preach a lot about being consistent with your posting, commenting, sharing, making connections, it’s all so important to growing your reader base. I definitely agree with you there.
Always stay true to yourself and the right people will start showing up.
Thanks for sharing this with us and you both have a great week.
~Adrienne
Theodore Nwangene says
Wow Adrienne,
“Always stay true to yourself and the right people will start showing up” That’s the best advice of the week. Yea I’ve decided to start accepting guest posts every once in a while.
One thing i like about you is your style of writing and I’ve already learnt a lot from you. You’re really trying over there at your blog especially your connection making.
Please keep it up.
Thanks for visiting and do have a great week too.
Enstine Muki says
Hi Daniel,
Good to see you here man.
Like you said, the most powerful source of traffic is that exciting, linkable and sharable content. Everything else revolves round this. No one will accept you as guest blogger if you can provide good content. Once you are able to write that kind of content that provokes excitement, you are good to go 😉
Theodore Nwangene says
Hi Enstine,
You’ve just made a great point here, those are the main thing and in order to achieve them, your post must be very good to attract the shares, likes, and tweets.
Thanks my man for visiting my blog today.
Jess Brown says
Hi Daniel and Theodore,
I loved the tips you gave! The fairy tale one is great! No one wants to read boring content…if I find a blog that is boring or has grammatical and spelling errors, I’m clicking on the back button as quickly as I can. As you said, how can people trust you as an authority if you can’t even write a decent blog post.
I also agree so much about being consistent with your blog. I keep a very strict schedule and my readers and the search engines know what to expect it. That is so important!
I’m sure you are going to help a lot of people with these tips, so thanks for sharing!
Have a great day!!
Jess
Theodore Nwangene says
Thanks for your wonderful compliments Jess,
In this blogging of a thing, consistency is the name of the game. Just like Daniel has said, no one will visit a blog that has the same content for a long time and be willing to revisit.
So just have to try our possible best to be updating as often as possible. I’m also happy you’ve set up a schedule for your postings.
Thanks for commenting and do enjoy the remaining of your week.
Sue Neal says
Hi Theodore and Daniel,
These are great tips, and I’m glad you put providing exciting, quality content at the top of the list. I try to follow most of this advice, though I haven’t done any guest blogging yet, mainly due to lack of time, but I certainly hope to in future.
The only point you make I’m a little uneasy about is the one about re-writing other bloggers’ posts – I know you’ve qualified it by saying not to copy and paste and to be unique, but I’m concerned some people might misunderstand this and think it’s ok just to re-word what someone else has written. I think it’s fine to be inspired by what other people have written, but we should always aim to write our own original content. I think that’s probably what you mean!
I completely agree with you about the importance of consistency, letting your own personality come through in your writing and revising what you’ve written before you publish – that’s VERY important!
Many thanks for an interesting post,
Sue
Theodore Nwangene says
Hi Sue,
I’ve indeed happy that you like the post. I understand what you meant about being original which is very advisable, but what i got from what Dan said is about getting some inspirations from other people posts and not being a copy cat.
You know there are some times when’re normally confused about what to write about, so i think visiting other bloggers posts at that point in time can really help and inspire you into writing something good.
Consistency is also a very important aspect of blogging just like in every other thing. I pray you’ll soon have some time to try guest posting and see what it can do for your blog.
Thanks for coming and do enjoy yourself.

Hi Theodore
David gives some very valid tips. I have two blogs and I had to post less frequently to my IM blog last year while I concentrated on getting a number of projects completed. Sometimes there is just not enough time in the day!
I joined Dean Hollands Quick Start Challenge a few weeks ago which has got me back into the swing of things. I am blog hopping again and posting of forums. It does take time but they have increased my traffic.
Commenting on blogs that have the Commentluv plugin installed as you have does help a lot to get traffic.
Theodore Nwangene says
Welcome to my blog Sandy, I’m very pleased to have you here indeed.
Its true that we don’t normally have enough time to work on our blog, but with a very good plan and schedule, we can get thing going you know.
Blog commenting is very good because it will not only give you some traffic but you will also be building some solid relationship with others, but that’s when you writes a very interesting comments.
Thanks ones again for coming to my blog Sandy, hope to see you again.
Neamat Tawadrous says
Hi Daniel and Theodore,
This is a great post and I like all the tips but the two tips that stand out for me is #2 to be consistent and always put good content out there and preferably if it is on a schedule for google and your audience to expect it and # 6 to review for spelling and grammatical mistakes before hitting the publish button. Yes, I visit lots of blogs where I find lots of spelling mistakes and bad grammar and sometimes even the sentences doesn’t make any sense and it really sounds unprofessional at all. I stress so much on this point to review for the spelling mistakes and for the grammar.
I also think commenting on other blogs on the same niche is a great source of traffic to your blog.
Thanks Daniel for sharing these great tips and thanks Theodore for the guest blog.
Be Blessed,
Neamat
Theodore Nwangene says
Be Blessed too Neamat,
How are you? Yea, Daniel has really said a lot here. I also believe in being consistency so that your readers will always have a new thing to read each time they visit.
I understand what you meant about the grammatical errors of a thing as i always see it on some blogs too, but i think the reason is that they are always too fast to hit the publish button. If they can actually cool down after writing and reread what they wrote before publishing, then the errors will be very minimal.
Thanks for coming and do have a great Thursday.
Tim Bonner says
Hey Theodore and welcome Daniel
I tend to do most of what you’re saying here Daniel.
The one thing I’ve been failing on recently is posting consistency but I’m aware of it and have a plan to get things back on track.
I’ve done one guest post so far and enjoyed that so maybe it’s time to do some more too.
Great post Daniel and thanks to Theodore for introducing you to us.
Theodore Nwangene says

I’ve also decided to write more guest this year to see the impact it will create for my blog, so we’re together.
Thanks for coming Tim.

Aggrandizing the traffic on a blog is one of the most essential as well as cumbersome tasks. The tips shared are of immense value.
