Traffic Tip #1 – BLOG COMMENTING
The majority of blogs on the internet allow you to leave a comment and in return you’ll
get a link back to your website.
Here’s what you need to do :
- Find blogs in your niche that are currently accepting comments.
- Explore and read the blog and then you make an meaningful and relevant
comment to the post that is likely to be approved by the blog’s administrator.
- Include your back-link with relevant anchor text on the blog.
- Rinse & Repeat
It is very vital to ensure that you leave a useful comment and not something like “nice
post, I agree”. If your comment does not add value to the blog post it is unlikely to be
approved, so I don’t advise wasting time on posting irrelevant comments.
Traffic Tip#2 USING TWITTER
Twitter has changed the way people communicate and interact. This micro-blogging
platform that has had a never-before-seen growth, at an over 1,000 percent increase in
its user base year-on-year, is the equivalent of a virtual social club where people can
meet, get to know each other, socialize, make new friends and maintain existing
friendships.
Twitter is a highly effective platform where you can begin to learn about your target
market. You are no longer in the situation of other businesses that two decades ago had
to pay market research companies a fortune to find out who their ideal customer is and
they would receive a profile after the company had done extensive research.
However, even this would still be a generalized profile, whereas Twitter allows you to
come into contact directly with your prospects, not simply an ideal based on a
generalized profile.
This allows you to learn about your prospects directly, without having the information
filtered and categorized by someone else. Additionally, it is a much more affordable
solution, since it’s practically free, and you can even design your own survey and ask
your customers and prospects to offer you feedback on your service or product.
This information will prove invaluable because you can basically ask your prospects
what they want in a product and you can offer it to them. If you offer people what they
want, then the product or service will sell itself and your customers will also sell it for
you.
Traffic Tips#3 – CREATE A FACEBOOK FAN PAGE
Creating a Like page on Facebook is a very powerful method of getting free targeted
traffic. You can find instructions on how to do this inside the Facebook help section or
you can use a free tool such as http://www.FaceBookLikeBuilder.com to help you build
a page and provide a free gift in return for someone liking your page.
If you have used Facebook before you may already be familiar with Like pages. When a
Facebook user clicks on the like button for a particular page they will then be able to
access all the information on this page e.g. a free EBook or a video.
The powerful part of this is:
- When someone likes your page, this will appear on their wall and status update
for all their friends to see. This means that you have the chance of some of their
friends visiting your like page as well.
- Whenever you post a status update on your like page, everyone who has liked
your page will see this.
If you do this correctly you can get a whole source of free traffic to your website that
was not possible before.
Traffic Tips #4 – SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
When anyone is looking for something online, where is the first place that you think they
would go? That’s right – search engines.
For a long time now, search engines have been at the very heart of the internet
experience, by being the navigation method of choice. All that has changed is the
popularity of various search engines over the years, with Google currently dominating the
pack by a king-sized margin.
With this in mind, it is reasonable to want to be getting your slice of the pie as far as
search engine traffic is concerned, and how that can be done is simply by ensuring your
pages start to show up within the first page (or at least, first few pages) of search engine
results for terms of your choice.
Search Engine Optimization basically involves optimizing every page on your website,
using the title tag, keywords within content of the page, alt tags, meta description tag
and more.
With SEO there are some very important factors regarding the actual structure and
anatomy of your website that you need to pay special attention to in order to effectively
optimize your website for top search engine rankings
The <TITLE> Tag:
A title tag is the most important tag for SEO and should include the primary keyword
phrase for your website.
The Heading Tags (e.g. <H1>, <H2>):
Heading Tags also play an important part in search engine optimization, because you are
able to highlight important text on your website, ensuring that search engine spiders
pay special attention to the text contained within these head tags.
Keywords in the Content:
When it comes to developing your content so that you are optimizing your website for
the search engines, you should pay attention to keyword proximity, prominence as well
as the order of your content itself.
The prominence of your keyword is based on the first instance of where it appears
within your content.
A keyword phrase that is used at the end of your content will be considered less
relevant than a keyword phrase that appears in the first portion of your content or
article.
ALT Tags
You should also add your keywords in a few of the alt attributes of the images on your
page.
