Twitter has certainly generated a lot of response since its launch. From teenagers, to professionals, celebrities, politicians, corporate bodies – just name it, everyone is on Twitter. With the quick and frequent exchange of ideas, opinions, answers.
Twitter has created a whole new universe for people from different social backgrounds, status and interest to stay connected through a more open line of communication.
However, with the highly competitive situation of the world today, it’s getting more difficult to reach out to a wider target audience. But today, we have a bunch of cool new tools that has made things easier……. Facebook such as Twitter! Twitter is a micro blogging platform which has capacity to help businesses grow wide through viral traffic or word of mouth because of its fast information sharing capacity. Below are some simple strategies for growing your business virally using twitter:
There are a lot to do with the type of people you follow and the kind of members following you. Search and follow people who share similar interests with you. Guess what? Twitter. allows you to use keywords to search for a certain kind of people that you can add to your friend list.
The more active the person is on twitter, the better. If you have a list of selected friends, you can check their followers and follow them for your viral marketing purpose. If you have a huge list, but they are not active, the contact list is of no use if you don’t have relationship with them on a regular basis.
One way is to tweet frequently to get in touch with your followers and people you follow. Add links to your blogs and website to let site visitors know more about you.
Remember to provide value. If you are using this viral marketing tool for your business, provide informative content and complement others for their insightful tweets to make your appearance more visible.
Start conversations and stay connected. This is the way to make sure your business lingers in their memories for a longer time. Tweet about subjects related to your niche or target market. Then, invite people to join the discussion about your business and try to know what others expect from the service that you provide.
Finally, if you follow these tips I’ve shared with you above, then in a short period of time you’ll start seeing a ton of new “followers” due to the viral results of your efforts.

Hi Nwangene,
I don’t really know if all of these work. I have heard similar tips over the years but I can say from my own experience twitter is not really great in generating traffic to blogs. To see that happen you will need to spend hundreds of your man hour. The life expectancy of your tweets are actually too short! Before your tweets land on the page someone else is there to push them down. Of course I do tweet my posts but I spend more time visiting other blogs to post comments than spend my time on twitter.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Chadrack
From my own experience, twitter has been a very good source of traffic
to my blog depending on how you go about it. However, you don’t need
to spend hours twitting, i personally use a free wordpress plugin
called TWEET OLD POST which will automatically be twitting your old
post for you depending on how you set it. I will also recommend another
paid plugin called TWEET ADDER though haven’t used it but i heard its a very
good one if you also want to automate the process.
BTW: Thanks for coming over to my blog. I expect to see you again
