To be honest with you, I never knew I will be able to update this blog again this week because of the distractions here, other jobs and most of all….. A little lack of interest. I know this might sound weird to you judging by the fact that you don’t expect me to say that but, I’m telling you the truth.
You know what they said that “Lack of communication brings about the downfall of any relationship”; I’ve come to realize that this issue does not only apply in relationships alone but also in everything we do in life. I use to be quite enthusiastic about blogging and throughout last year, I can count the number of times I didn’t publish a new post here at most twice a week but, I’m afraid to say that it’s no longer the case today.
I knew what it took me to cool down and put together this post you’re reading now but is it my fault? Well, I will say that’s it’s somehow my fault and somehow too, it’s not my fault. Now, you might want to know how it’s my fault and how it’s not my fault and I will try to explain a little.
First, it’s my fault because of lack of adequate planning. Had it been that I planned everything very well initially, I would have been able to maintain both my blog and other things I’m currently engaged with as I explained to you in my previous post.
The truth is that I never thought that I will be away for so long at first, I planned to stay away for like two weeks but the two weeks later metamorphosed into months so, the fact is that had it been that I organized everything well initially, whatever I was doing couldn’t have affected my blog this much.
On the other side, it wasn’t my fault because what I was doing was also necessary and it wasn’t a waste of time at all. I mean that I also achieved some good things which I’m happy about but, it was at the detriment of my blog which is not supposed to be.
The Effect My Absence Had on My Blog
As expected, my being away for so long has caused me so many things starting from my traffic, income and overall growth of Top Blogging Coach. I couldn’t have imagined this.
Again, the most awful thing is that I began to lose interest on this blog. The motivation was no longer there and I didn’t know what I was doing. We’ve heard several times that “Repetition is the key to success” I mean, whatever you’re doing on a consistent basis will end up being a habit, it will eventually become a part of you and the moment you stop doing those things, you will certainly start losing interest on them as well.
Do you know the easiest way to get rid of your relationship? The answer is simply to stop communicating with your partner. If you usually call him/her on the phone three times daily, start from calling twice to calling once daily and finally, start calling her once in a week and before you know what is happening, both of you will start losing interest on the relationship and it will eventually die off.
However, it’s important to note that this same scenario also applies to blogging and everything we do in life. If you stop communicating with your blog, your blog will start losing interest on you and vice-versa and once this start happening, if proper care is not taking, you won’t know when your Domain/Host expired and that is when your blog will finally be-gone without your knowledge.
If you’re a regular visitor of my blog, you will notice that my host expired on 23rd April and I was never aware of this until someone pointed it to me later. As a result of this, my blog was offline for almost two weeks until I later renewed my host.
I wouldn’t like to bore you any further with this post but, the massage I want to pass across is that whatever you live in life will also live you so if you don’t want your passion for blogging to collapse, don’t stay away from those things you usually do for long as far as blogging is concerned.
Finally, I’m going to motivate myself once again for me to bounce back and, I’ve decided to be updating this blog once/week and that will be on Mondays, with all the things I’m doing now, I doubt if I will be able to continue the usual two posts/week unless time permits me or I have an important message to pass. By the grace of God, I plan to also change my theme before the end of this week as I’m no longer satisfied with the current theme.
So, I will like you to tell me if you like the theme I’m using and why also, let me know if you want me to change it stating your reason as well. Also, don’t forget to let me know what you think about this post.
I will equally appreciate it if you will help me to pass this message across to your friends by using the share buttons on the left side of this post.
Thanks for your supports so far and……Happy New Week.

HI Theodore,
I can understand how things get and you are right, if you are away too long, things do take a back seat, especially if you don’t keep in touch with your blog for a long period.
Well, I am also taking my summer break now…starting from today for a few days, just as the latest post mentions, so I dread all this happening to me, though I have informed my readers well in advance so they don’t wait or my posts and when I will return. But I am not leaving my blog, instead, would be working behind the scenes to make it better alongside.
Thanks for sharing this with us, and I shall meet you after a few weeks now. Time to take my break 🙂

I’m glad you can also relate to this Harleena, and I will not disturb you much so you can enjoy your vacation, don’t forget to buy something for me when returning 🙂
Have fun

Hi Theo,
I can understand your situation. Trying to hold up everything as your presently doing is not really an easy task. I must commend you on this. About suddenly developing “cold feet” about blogging is something we have experience a few times. Your comparison is also apt because blogging is like a love relationship. Staying too long out of sight (without the communication like you said) will definitely affect the the passion! I hope you will be able to overcome this and return with your passion. Best wishes 🙂

Yea Chadrack,
You’re one of the people that knows my ways about and thanks for always been there for me too. Indeed, it’s never an easy thing at all I must confess but I’m sure I will still pick up.
Thanks for coming.

It is a great thing that in as much as your busy schedule, you’ve still found a way to continue updating yiur blog.
I discovered Top Blogging Coach somewhere in 2012 and I have being ardent reader of it till date. It was one of the reigning blogs during those days but it is quite unfortunate other priorities over-rode.
I do wish you all the best and do have a great week as well.

Hi Theodore,
Great post as usual. I think this all goes back to the need to be consistent, but on a deeper level. When we think of consistency, we think of the amount of posts, butTit has to do with everything we do – including interacting with our online contacts.
Kathryn Dilligard says
That’s why consistency is a must in blogging. You can’t just pop in and pop out whenever you want.
