Even as Facebook, Twitter and a handful of other social media networks sit atop the pile as far as popularity goes, Google’s own Google+ network has continued to grow, both in user population and usefulness, providing a prime opportunity for bloggers to step up their promotion and marketing game outside of the social comfort zone.
Whether you’ve already gotten started on Google+ or you’ve long shunned it as being less useful and populated than its much larger competitors, there is a wealth of knowledge and opportunity to be found there if only you to know where to look and who to team up with. To that end, here are eight internet marketing Google+ circles to join for effective promotion of your blog:
1. Blogging
The official Google+ community of the popular MyBlogGuest service and resource, this is one of the first communities on the network that you should join where promoting your blog is concerned. Besides giving you insight into the MyBlogGuest system itself – a system that allows you to contribute to other blogs for the sake of recognition and backlinks even while inviting others to contribute to your own blog – you’ll also find a great deal of resources and discussion centered on what it takes to get your blog to the top of search engine rankings, and the minds of your readers.
2. Blogging
Getting ahead in the blogging world requires taking advantage of social media, and the crew behind Viral Content Buzz have the inside information that you need to do just that. Besides promoting and detailing their own service that allows you to trade social media likes and shares with other bloggers, the Viral Content Buzz community on Google+ also has a dash of general marketing info and discussion surrounding the same to offer.
3. Blogging
Catering to bloggers of all kinds, from professional types to those of us who write from a cozy corner of our living room, the simply-named Blogging community on Google+ plays host to more than 7,500 members, each of them bringing something unique to the table as far as discussion is concerned. For their part, the community’s administrators are always on the hunt for useful information to share, making this a very well-rounded way to get all of the promotional insight that you – and your blog – need on a daily basis.
4. WordPress and Blogging
While it’s not a certainty, it’s very likely that, if you’re a blogger, you use the WordPress platform to get your words out to the public, making the WordPress and Blogging community on Google+ a great place to turn for advice on the particulars of publishing within the world’s most popular blogging platform. Created and hosted by the team behind HostGator, you’ll find access to everything from promotional materials to a heads up on the latest themes and plugins, updated daily.
5. Content Marketing
No matter your original goal when launching your blog, it’s quite likely that your mind turned to the idea of profit before too long, and that’s exactly what the promotional material found at the Blogging For Business Google+ community is designed to help you to do. From growing your audience to taking advantage of your current traffic, you’ll find all of the tips and information here that you need to promote and monetize your content to the fullest.
6. Content Marketing
Being a successful blogger means turning your content into traffic, a different endeavor altogether than an attempt to push a product or service, and the people behind the Content Marketing Google+ community know this better than anyone. More than 2,000 members spend their time here discussing content marketing opportunities, the effect that social media has on pushing articles, and much more, with every word aimed at helping to make you a more effective marketer and promoter for your blog than ever before.
7. Content Marketing
Join nearly 1,000 of your colleagues at Google+’s Internet Marketing community, a place for bloggers and marketers to join forces in sharing their wisdom and Content Marketing to be, quite simply, better at what they do. With a landscape that is constantly evolving, internet marketing demands both know-how and a cutting edge attitude to stay on top of things, allowing you to leverage everything from email lists to social media, and the information that you’ll find here aims to make you better at every promotional tactic that you undertake.
8. Content Marketing
When you work for a firm, whether it be big or small, you typically have at least one person on hand to take care of marketing for you; when you work for yourself as a lone blogger, however, that on us is on you. Given the rigours of that job, and any other that involves someone in a position of being self-employed, the Entrepreneurs / Self-Employed Google+ community is a great place to turn for marketing tips and tricks of all kinds, directly from the people who know them best.
There you have it all from Anna Fox. Believe me, i really enjoyed this post. The truth right now is that i don’t belong to any circle on Google plus but, I’m joining all these circles immediately.
If you have any recommendation or questions regards to this post, please share it with us on the comment section, I’m sure Anna will be there to respond to us all :).
Thanks and, don’t forget to tweet and share this post with your friends out there. May we all have a very wonderful and productive week…… Amen.

Anna Fox says
Thanks Jane. Totaly agree with you. As for me Google+ looks like a club where people of common interests are sharing their thoughts and passing time in easy conversation with less of uninformative posts, less of spammy coments and less of abuse from people with different points of view.

Thanks for sharing this Anna,
I’ve been looking for some google circles to join relating to internet marketing and home business. The last 2, internet marketing and entrepreneurs caught my eye and will look into this! Although I’ve only have very little knowledge in google plus and been trying to push myself to get more involved, I believe that these circles will jump start my journey with google +
Anna Fox says
Sherman, I’m sure they will. Google+ is a perfect place for self promotion and for promotion of your business. So I hope you’ll quickly understand what it is up to and how it can benefit you
Khaja Moin says
Excellent work to increase social and referral traffic.
I never spent lots of time over these networks… which is why I get less social traffic. Now it’s time to leverage these things up…
~@Khajamoin1
Anna Fox says
Thanks Khaja. I’m sure that participating in this groups will affect positively your traffic. Besides there is always a lot of useful information there. So you’ll get more benefits then just increased amount of visitors.
Ria Parish says
Joined all of those groups and I’m sure I’ll “waste” many an hour reading discussions in all of them. I’m still quite new to Google+ but I’m finding where I’m struggling is making initial friends and contacts on there. Am I going about this all wrong? I only know a handful of people who use Google+ personally.
Anna Fox says
Ria, making friends with like-minded people is very important part of every blogging process. Making your contacts personal will give you understanding of your readers needs. Thus you’ll be able to adapt your content and in result get more feedback. Contacts making is not the only benefit of Google+. It’s a powerful tool for self promotion or promotion of your blog (or your business). Share your articles there, comment posts of other participants, share their worth-to-read articles with your circles. So be active! You are on a right track
Susan Velez says
HI Anna,
Great list of Google+ Circles. To tell you the truth, I really haven’t looked at Google+ because I haven’t really had the time. However, after you reading this post I may have to reconsider and start learning.
I know a lot of people have had good success using it. I guess it’s time to take a closer look at it. Thanks for sharing these Groups, I will definitely join some of them.
Any tips you can provide me with once I join a group or how to learn more about Google+ would be extremely helpful. Thanks and have a great day.
Anna Fox says
Susan, the main idea is to see and be seen. Make friends. Share your opinion in comments. Give valuable information to the members of the community. Share your articles with others and reshare content of other members. Don’t be greedy and give everyone who has drawn your attention +1. And of course have fun!
Siraj Wahid says
Hey Anna,
Google Plus was not generating much traffic for my blog in the past month but from 2-3 weeks the potential of Google Plus for my blog has increased and it is because of efficient promotion on marketing circles. I have found 2-3 new circles from this article. Thanks for sharing.
Anna Fox says
Thanks Siraj. I hope the tendency will remain and will be ever-increasing in the near future, and you’ll reach your goals.

Well, I find this post very valuable, because I’ve always been kinda lost on Google+ never really knowing what to do and where to go.
Now, I happen to know some of these communities very well, but never thought about going to look for them on Google + through their circles. One more thing I MUST put on my to do list.
Thanks for this great post!
Anna Fox says

Hi Ana,
Thank you for sharing these communities here at Theodore’s blog.
I’m part of the Blogging For Business community from this list but that’s the only one. I just recently joined a few more that I had received invitations to join because I don’t just like dropping links and not participating in the group and you definitely have to have the time for that as you know. Unfortunately that’s still what the majority of them do which is why I just don’t like a good bit of them.
Appreciate this share though and hope you both are enjoying your week.
~Adrienne
Anna Fox says
Hi Adrienne. I do understand what you are talking about. There is such a category of people that is using communities as a links storage. They forget that building relationships with other members is important as well as links sharing.
Steve Freeman says
I already belong to a couple of groups on the list. I have a question, my target market are small business owners, owners who own brick and mortar type businesses. Are those people even on social media? I mean, do they really have time to join groups and stay current in them?
Anna Fox says
Steve, I consider that they should have time for that. Social media engagement (as time shows) is a huge instrument of business promotion and development of client base. And in the days of rapid competitive expansion all the tools should be used.
Otechguide Mobile solutions says
Thanks very much. I’v learn 3 genuine points here. Will surely implement it. But why are pages more connectives than group?. How Mobile Technology can be of a great and positive impact in your business
Anna Fox says
Pleased to hear that. As for me reason is in convenience. Nowadays information submission through social media is more convenient and effective.
