I Hate Writing Articles| What else can I do?

Happy new week all, I hope we all enjoyed the weekend.writing articles

We all know that articles are the backbone of any internet based business or site. Even those that have no site but are heavy internet users are also aware of that. Articles quench the thirst for information and knowledge of the people. Plus, the articles provide many other benefits for the site.

However, the benefits that articles provide to a site cannot be over emphasized. They provide attraction to website visitors when they are appreciated and are linked to your site from another site or newsletter which will also increase its search engine ranking. Articles also provide for the increase of the confidence and trust levels of customers to your site and company.

Articles are also beneficial to both the owner and its readers, this is because when the readers like the articles, they would tell more of their friends, family and peers about it and then recommend your site to them, providing for a larger volume of publicity which means more visitors. You also get bigger sales if your traffic trusts and believes in you. Your product or services would be much easier to sell when they know you know what you are doing and talking about.

In a nut shell, articles are very crucial and to remain in the game, a site must have valuable articles, it is imperative. But there is one problem though, not many people like writing articles.

Many webmasters would rather spend their time on something else, and unless you’re a big time company, you don’t have the necessary resources to use on article writers. Plagiarism or copying of other articles is also frowned upon and could easily get you into trouble.

So what else can I do to keep my site updated with Articles?

Well, for beginners, if you don’t like writing articles and you can’t afford to hire people to write for you then the best way is to use free articles. The first place to look at for free articles is the public domain.  Here you won’t have problems with copyright infringement and the following penalties and fines if you get caught for plagiarism.

So what are Public domain articles? They are articles freely given to the public for public use. However, you can do whatever you want with it. You can place it on your site, name it as yours, put it in a newsletter, etc. But always have in mind though that you will have to choose articles that are very relevant to your niche.

The disadvantage to using public domain articles is that since it is free for everybody, many of your competitors may have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique even though you have the same niche, this could be a predicament. You may also have to edit them a bit in order to make them unique.

Another way to get free articles is to allow other bloggers to submit guest posts on your blog. This would be only to augment your existing content or else all your articles would be leading to other sites since these articles would have author bios with them that could link or direct the readers to their site or products. That’s why it is vital to have your own articles.

But, to truly feel the impact of what a good article to you, go for original ones. There are many article writers who do part time and freelance article writing jobs that charges only minimal fees. You can get quality articles that have all the keywords and keyword phrases you need and people are looking for. You can check out this awesome post by my friend Jon Haver from Authoritywebsiteincome.com to learn more about how to get quality articles at a very cheap rate.

Finally, the investment you made for these articles would be worthwhile because you could use them for all the benefits you could offer. You hold copyrights to them and you will be able to use them anyway you want.

It’s now your turn,

What do you think about my tips? Do you have any other method to getting free or cheap articles? Please your comment will be well appreciated. Also remember to share and tweet this post with your friends so they will also benefit from it.

Thanks.

Wishing us all a very successful and productive week.

The Discussion

  1. Theodore, This is my first comment in your blog and enjoyed reading your article, most of the beginners find difficult in finding the content and due to this they will not be able to post the article on regular intervals, may be public domain articles can be used as an idea to create content and avoid duplication, definitely allowing guest post on the blog is the best method , but care should be taken to accept the right content for the blog.

    • Hi Lokesh,
I’m so pleased indeed to see your comment here, thanks a lot. I agree with you that most newbies finds it very hard to write on a regular basis and that’s why i wrote this post.

Appreciate your comment, do have a lovely week.

  2. Tell the truth, i would never use some free articles. Mostly because i don’t like anything “not-mine” in my blog. Too picky. I would rather make and efforts and write something myself. well, but it’s only about me)

    • I understand what you mean Evan,

The issue is that its not everyone that has the strength to write, and those are the people i wrote this post for. You don’t like the free articles because you’re very fit and can write your articles, but most can’t. I can’t use the free ones either because i can write mine too.

Thanks for your opinion dear and have a lovely week.

  3. Theodore, I do not hate writing, but it is a lot of work. I thought about free articles however, I like some control over what is written.

I will use guest bloggers, but they can be a gamble.

You brought the truth out here.

    • Yea Michael,
Its really a very hard work indeed, free articles can really save you some time but that if you can add your own voice to it in order to make it unique enough.

Thanks for coming Mike and do enjoy yourself.

  4. Bro, I hated writing. Yes! I really did. By this time last year, I never dreamed I’d one day be doing what I’m doing today. But as I read heavily, I got to love it. Now it’s flowing like charm.

I hired some few articles last year when I had some serious problems offline and could not update my blog. However, right now I feel like something is terribly wrong if I’m not writing and I really do like that ;)

Great tips you have here man

    • Hey Bro,
I understand what you mean, i myself never knew i will be able to be doing what I’m doing now some months ago just like you. but here we are now doing it.

It can be quite challenging some times but i know we will always surmount all the hurdles. I’ve never hired a writer before, I’ve only accepted 2 guest posts since the inception of this blog.

      Thanks a lot for coming.

  5. Hi Bro.

I must say I don’t hate writing. Only thing is the work involved. And because I always want to put out the best, writing my articles takes me way too much time! :)

When I started writing I tried using plr articles but I discovered they really did not accomplish what I wanted. Though I went the extra mile of rewriting them, the flow was really not different from others out there. For now, I concentrate on writing my content no matter the pain.

    Thanks for this post.

Btw, I’ll give you a call in a few hours time.
Chadrack recently posted…Frankly, Are You Building A Business Or A Blog?My Profile

    • Hi Chadrack,
I’ve also tried using plr before but has stopped since i can actually write. I agree with you that writing is sometimes very tedious and consumes lots of time. Its not very easy bro.

      Thanks for coming.

  6. Hey Theodore

I do enjoy writing and researching stuff but sometimes I just don’t get time to do a post without it becoming a great hurry.

I’ve not considered using ghost writers yet and I probably won’t as I want to keep some consistency going.

If my blog were more corporate then I guess it’s something I’d think about.
Tim Bonner recently posted…Will The Real Tim Bonner Please Stand Up?My Profile

    • Time is always the issue Tim,
Its unfortunately that we don’t often have the time to do some of those things like writing which leads to us usually being in a haste. I sometimes encounter such experience but I’ve decided to be writing first thing in the morning like from 5am on daily basis that way, i will still have some time to put on it.

Thanks a lot for the visit bro.

  7. Hi Theodore,

You have some interesting advice here for people who don’t like writing. I do think people need to be careful about using articles from other sources – apart from the danger of ending up with poor quality or duplicate content, which could harm your site’s rankings, it must make it more difficult to build up relationships with your readers if you’re not actually communicating with them yourself through your posts.

I suppose another option for people who don’t like the writing process is to do more video blogging maybe?

I’d obviously recommend that people develop their own writing skills – as Enstine’s discovered, even those who aren’t keen on writing might develop a liking for it if they work at it – and it can be very rewarding.

Thanks for raising this interesting topic – but I hope not many bloggers REALLY hate writing – I thought it was what it’s all about!

Never thought of that. Yea, blogging should be all about writing but most people don’t see it that way, but just as you said, thats what it should be all about.

Thanks for coming Sue and have a nice day.

  8. HI Theodore

    Great information shared!

Allowing Guest posts on blog is the best idea, I have not tried any of the methods you have defined in this post so need to work on those. But writing is not that easy and at the same time time consuming, having said that I’m enjoying this as I’m not doing anything else.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Sapna

    • Well said Sapna,
I’ve also made up my mind to be publishing guest posts here ones in a while. Writing is not easy at all but we don’t have a choice than to keep to it.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful opinion with us, i love reading your comment.

  9. Hey Theodore,

I don’t dislike writing either so I can’t imagine hiring someone else to write posts for my blog. Now if it’s just writing articles for backlinks or driving traffic to my site I would possibly consider hiring someone to write unique articles for me.

I do know several people who hate to write which is why they’ve never created a blog. I’ve shared with them that they could do podcasts or videos but those are also areas they obviously aren’t very comfortable in doing either.

I would never use free articles or PLR because you have to really rewrite those to make them your own and then you’re veering right back into the issue at hand. Not liking to write.

Guest posts are another option but I personally don’t want to visit a blog that only has guest posts because it’s so much harder for me to relate to them because they aren’t the owners of the blog.

Interesting take though and I do hope that the majority of people who have ventured into blogging actually enjoy it now.

    • I trust you Adrienne and know you can write pretty well.
You have another great point here. Video and podcasting, that’s another great way of updating a blog but I’m afraid that its not that easy either. I don’t like visiting blogs that only focuses on guest posts too because of the same reason you gave here.

Thanks for this wonderful comment of yours, i enjoy reading your comment a lot.

  10. Hi Theodore,

Writing blog posts or articles can definitely be a pain at times…especially when you don’t have a lot of time. But if people will just give it a try, even if they aren’t the best writers, it will definitely be worth their while. Once you get in the swing of things, it isn’t that big of a deal.

I’ve never heard of the public articles…I have heard of paid, spun articles. I suppose they would be another way to create content, but with spinning then you have articles that make little sense and require a ton of editing, so to me, it just makes more sense to roll up your sleeves and just create your own content.

Thanks for this awesome post, Theodore. Great information.

  11. You know, people might not always “like to write”, but if you ask them for their opinions, you’ll be surprised at how willing they are to open themselves.

Lots of news sites get tons of pageviews and comments by just offering their insights on the news of the day. There’s no reason why you can’t do the same and use excepts from other people’s writing to fill things out.

For this to work, you’d have to keep things entertaining, of course :)

    • You’ve said it all Micah and i can’t agree more to that.

There are many ways we can create an amazing contents for our blog, but the issue is that we’re sometimes lazy to implement them, I’m also guilty of this of cause.

Thanks for visiting my blog Micah, please come again.

  12. Hello Theodore!
I’m not full time blogger so I do not have time to write an article every day, although I do not use free articles.
I belive articles must include a personal “touch”. I think that visitors prefer to read articles that are your own rather than “copied” article.
Sandi recently posted…King buried under modern and large monumentMy Profile

    • That’s correct Sandi,
But just as i clearly said on the post, before anyone can use any free article on his blog, he must first have to make it his own by editing it very well that way, it will become unique.

Thanks for coming and sharing your awesome view with us.

  13. I have heard of people that take public domain material and enhance it. For example, you could add a map or if you are super creative draw a picture that goes along with the context of the material. In addition, you could take the material and add to it or possibly update it with recent statistics.
David Landen recently posted…Is Toilet Paper Optional? My Profile

    • Definitely David,
There are many ways you can make a public domain article very unique indeed and the ones you just shared now are not exceptional at all.

Thanks for visiting my blog Dav, hope to see you again.

  14. Hi Theodore
I think the more we write the better at it we become, I was rubbish when I first started my blog, my posts were boring, but over time I have developed my own style and have improved (so people tell me :) ) so I would not use free articles as they would not be from “me” and maybe run the risk of having duplicate content, they may be very useful for those that do not have the time or feel they cannot write, but not for me.
I would have guest posts but only maybe one a month, this is something I have been thinking about and will be inviting anyone who would like to write a post for my blog to contact me very soon.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day.

I’m very happy you have discovered your own writing style. Free articles are definitely not for everyone just as you said, its not for me as well. But it can be of a tremendous help to those that needs it. I also agree that writing regularly can make one a better writer.

Thanks for coming and enjoy your weekend.

  15. Hi Thoedore,
Great post! I am sure this speaks right into the hearts of a number of bloggers.

But the truth is, you can be a start at being a blogger without being a writer.

Just share your thoughts as honestly as you can and with time you will come to love what you can do with words. I have always loved writing, so I have never been there. However, I have a number of friends who have grown to love writing through constant use of their writing skills.

I am one of those who believe that we get to love the things we do well, and dislike the things we suck at.

Want to love writing? Write, write and write again!

  16. Hi Theodore,

    Great topic raised.

Writing blog posts or articles definitely consumes lots of time. But it is worth it to take the time and write your own content and get good at improving your writing skills.

I agree with all those who said all the public articles, paid articles or spun articles they will consume much more time to edit it and at the end it is not your content.

Thanks for this awesome post, Theodore. Great information shared.

    • Be blessed as well Neamat,
Sure thing, nothing beats writing your own articles on your own unique voice, but there are many people that finds it very difficult to do because of one thing or the other.

I also agree that one can really improve on it with consistent practice.

Thanks for your king words Neamat.

      Enjoy your weekend.
